John Posey, CFP®, AIF®
I have been working in the financial services industry since 2005. I previously worked at locally-owned institutions, including a community bank and an accounting firm in addition to two Fortune 500 organizations. With this knowledge and experience, I'm excited to provide financial planning and investment management services — that better serve the needs of the agriculture community and my clients — through my firm, Plains Advisory. The firm is designed to provide farmers and retirees from ag careers with specialized advice in the areas of investment management, retirement planning, estate planning, farm succession and tax planning.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM and Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, I hold a financial planning certificate from Kaplan University, in addition to a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.
My wife, Krystal, and I have four children: Kendall (9), Rece (7), Brynn (4) and Sayla (1). We enjoy the outdoors, traveling and sports.
Both my wife and I come from a family of farmers. We’ve seen the challenges and rewards involved in managing a farming operation first-hand. Throughout my career, I have enjoyed working with people that come from an agricultural background, discovering that similar experiences can be very helpful in solving the many problems we face in our financial lives. This background has provided me with in-depth knowledge and insight into how to effectively navigate the complex financial challenges and opportunities many people encounter throughout their careers.
