John Posey, CFP®, AIF®

founder & ceo

John is a Nebraska native who grew up as a small-town farm kid, and has been working in financial services since 2005. He previously worked at locally-owned institutions, including a community bank and an accounting firm in addition to two Fortune 500 organizations. Equipped with many years of knowledge and experience in personal finance, he launched Plains Advisory to help others invest smarter, plan for the future, and leave a legacy. The services they provide are often valuable to those nearing retirement age and seeking a successful transition from their careers or business with specialized advice in the areas of investment management, retirement planning, estate planning, farm succession, risk management and tax planning.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM and Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, he holds a financial planning certificate from Kaplan University, in addition to a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.  He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association of Nebraska.

Both he and his wife come from rural Nebraska farm families. Throughout his career, he has enjoyed working with people that share similar values and experiences which can be very helpful in solving the many challenges we face in our financial lives. Tracy Kellermeyer

Administrative manager

Tracy has an extensive background in developing administrative teams and workflows for financial advisory firms and oversees the administrative team and processes for Plains Advisory. Her role helps ensure our back-office operations are consistently running smoothly. Tracy’s knowledge and experience using our technology and systems make her a significant asset to the back-office team. She also has a young family at home so she gets wide use of her managerial talents.

Amanda Tokarski

Administrative Assistant

Amanda comes from a background in administration within the finance industry. She has over ten years of combined experience in client relations, office management, and marketing. Amanda does the hard work in the back office to make sure things get done. She’s our top resource in getting answers, coordinating paperwork, finding information, and resolving issues that help make everyone’s life easier. In her spare time, she likes a good book and spending time outdoors.
